Our Journey
When Wei and Mei Chen moved to London from Guangzhou in 2005, they missed the vibrant markets of home — the fresh morning glory, the fragrant jasmine rice, the perfectly fermented doubanjiang. They knew they weren't alone. Three years later, they opened Morning Sun Supermarket to bring those flavours to everyone.
The Beginning
The Chen family opens a small grocery shop in London's Chinatown, stocking just 200 products from China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia.
Growing Community
Word spreads through the Asian community. We expand our range to include Japanese, Korean, and Indian products — reaching 1,500 items.
Birmingham Store
We open our second store in Birmingham's Chinese Quarter, bringing authentic Asian groceries to the Midlands.
Online Launch
During the pandemic, we launch our online delivery service, reaching customers across England and Wales.
Manchester Expansion
Our third store opens in Manchester's Northern Quarter, now serving over 3,000 products from 15+ Asian countries.

With plans for new locations and an expanded online presence, we continue our mission to bring Asia's finest to every UK kitchen.
